Acceptable Use Policy

The Platform exists to facilitate lawful, good-faith buying and selling of fishing-related gear. This policy protects users, reduces fraud and abuse, and helps keep ReelSwap reliable for the angling community.

You may not use the Platform to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Harm, threaten, or harass others
• Post false, misleading, or deceptive content
• Interfere with Platform operation or security
• Collect data without authorization
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Facilitate transactions for prohibited items

Fraud undermines trust in the marketplace. Prohibited conduct includes:

• Listings for items you do not possess or cannot sell
• Misrepresenting condition, ownership, or title
• Fake or manipulated photos
• Price manipulation schemes or phantom inventory
• Phishing for payment or login credentials through listings or messages

You may not list, sell, or attempt to sell property you do not lawfully own or control, including stolen boats, motors, electronics, or tackle.

We may report suspected stolen goods to law enforcement when appropriate. Provide accurate serial numbers and documentation when selling high-value items.

Counterfeit rods, reels, apparel, electronics, and branded tackle are prohibited. This includes replicas sold as authentic, altered branding, and unauthorized trademark use.

Any item illegal to possess, sell, or transfer under applicable federal, state, or local law is prohibited, including items subject to special licensing you do not hold.

The following are prohibited unless explicitly permitted in writing by ReelSwap and lawful in your jurisdiction:

• Firearms, ammunition, and weapons
• Explosives and hazardous materials
• Controlled substances and drug paraphernalia
• Wildlife or fish sold in violation of conservation law
• Items subject to recall that cannot lawfully be resold

Fishing knives and legal tackle are generally permitted when lawfully owned and accurately described.

You may not:

• Upload photos, text, or logos you do not have rights to use
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or patents
• Sell unauthorized reproductions of branded products

Rights holders may submit infringement reports with sufficient detail for review.

Without prior written permission, you may not:

• Scrape, crawl, or harvest Platform data by automated means
• Use bots to create accounts or listings
• Reverse engineer APIs or access non-public endpoints
• Mirror or republish substantial portions of the Platform

Limited search indexing by public search engines does not override restrictions on abusive automated access.

You may not:

• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Conduct phishing or social engineering attacks
• Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorization
• Overload infrastructure through denial-of-service activity

Prohibited manipulation includes:

• Creating multiple accounts to evade enforcement or boost listings
• Artificially inflating views, messages, or engagement
• Circumventing moderation, filters, or geographic restrictions
• Coordinated inauthentic behavior intended to deceive users
• Keyword stuffing or category abuse unrelated to the item sold

We may investigate suspected violations and take action at our sole discretion, including:

• Removing listings or media
• Restricting features (messaging, posting, editing)
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent account termination
• Preservation of records for legal compliance
• Cooperation with law enforcement

We are not obligated to monitor all activity in real time.

Include URLs, usernames, descriptions, and supporting evidence when possible.

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
